It was quite a week leading up to the move. We ate VERY well- saw some great friends and family- and were able to say goodbye to a city that will always be our first home.
Once our overfull truck was packed to the brim (thank you Lehners!), we took a moment to say goodbye to our first home.
Then squeezed into the front seat for the long journey down....
When we arrived it was storming like crazy (very thankful for tarps) which made me oh so grateful for the movers we hired waiting to help us bring everything inside.
Needless to say.. it was a pretty exhausting trip.
The past month down here has been full of discovery and stillness. We are going to a great church, have met some people, and have already had some visitors. (Thanks TenHakens!) Tony is really enjoying the challenges at his new job and I am loving discovering our neighborhood. We are slowly putting our new apartment together and will post pictures soon.
Tony and I reflect often about the crazy journey that brought us from Elgin, IL to Milwaukee, WI to now Tulsa, OK. Hindsight is always such a crazy thing. To look back and see that leading up to each move God has us praying face on the floor for him to show up in a big way. We both see God's steadfast faithfulness and sovereignty in it all. We see how our testimonies have changed dramatically in the almost 2 years we have been married. And we are daily challenged to remember the trials that have greatly enriched our faith with a humble stance of thankfulness....
"Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the desert these forty years, to humble you and to test you... He humbled you, causing you to hunger then feeding you with manna... to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord."
Deuteronomy 8:2-3
