So many boxes

We are in full moving swing! In just one short week will be heading down to our new lives in Oklahoma.

At the start of this I believed that once all of the big check list items were taken care of  (renting out our apartment, finding a new one, getting doctors records, etc.) that packing up our tiny apartment would be a piece of cake. After packing for a week straight, I am floored my how much stuff we were able to squeeze into every corner of our place. I am resisting the temptation to start throwing everything in boxes and hoping that nothing gets broken or destroyed.

We have also been doing a victory round of all our favorite Milwaukee places...mostly on Brady. As a tribute to this amazing street that we have spent the last two years on, I would like to take a moment and remember this places that have captured Tony and my heart (and a big chunk of our wallet.)

Places on Brady-
Brewed: This place captured my heart the first moment I went to it. Being just around the corner from our apartment I have spent many hours here drinking coffee, eating quiche, and having amazing conversations with some new and old friends.

Mai Thai: Seriously, so good. I know everyone likes Thai-no-mite, but this place captured our heart. Their curry got Tony to actually eat curry (which is saying a lot). This is the first restaurant we went to in Milwaukee. I will miss their take out and their 2 for 1 appetizers during happy hour.

Mimma's: Yum. Pricey... but lick your plate good.

Casablanca: We have had some amazing date nights here, eating lamb and smoking hookah. Their Turkish coffee will put some hair on your chest as well.

Balzac: Man, I love this place. Amazing food and good wine. Sitting on in their outdoor eating area in the summer was one of my favorite things. This was by far our go-to place with out of town guests.

Cempuzuchi: One of Tony's favorites. Their burritos are fabulous and nachos could feed a family of four.

Glorioso's: This Italian market had been such a dear friend to me as I work my way through the Giardino Family Cookbook. I could spend a hour just looking at their cheeses.

World of Beer: Live music and good beer. Period.

Dragonfly: The only non-food place on here, but needed to be mentioned. I have purchased so many birthday presents here and cute items for the home that I feel like this was a go to shop for me. Plus they are dog friendly- and shopping with Zoe is always a good time.

Belair: Not on Brady but still walking distance. Their $2 taco nights were slowly becoming a weekly tradition. Had great double dates here with friends.

There are many more places that I fell in love with: Alterra, Safe House, Eli's pizza, Murray Hill Pottery, comet cafe, rethreads.... the list goes on and on.

I am so going to miss our church and the amazing friends we have made. I am so grateful for the past 2 years. This city will always hold my heart.

Okla-whata?

"And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth,

having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, 

that they should seek God, in the hope that they might feel their way toward him and find him.

Yet he is actually not far from each one of us, for

The Lord never ceases to amazing me. 

The prayer of Tony and my hearts has been that whatever fruit that the Lord had from this season of trial- whatever brokenness, heartache, and surrender we have been feeling would lead us to the Lords's will.

Well- God showed up. In a big way. 

Tony was offered a new job in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After much prayer, we felt the Lord leading us to check it out. So, last weekend, dog in tow, we drove the 12 hours down to Tulsa. 

Zoey was such a good girl in the car ride and loved staying in a Hotel. 

God really blew us away with how he showed up. Tony met with the people who offered him the job, we were able to look around and see what life would be like. The amazing thing is how smooth the process was. We were able to find a great apartment that was accommodating for us and just down the street from a church that we know the pastor is solid. We found great places to just sit and be still. The temperature was in the 60's so we were able so spend most the day walking around enjoying the sun.  One of our favorite places was a coffee house on cherry st. They allow dogs, so we sat with Zoey on the porch and just talked and prayed. 

On the drive home we both felt so much peace. Tony, being the amazing man that he is, wanted to be still and process everything together. So after a few days we decided to accept the job in Tulsa and begin the crazy process of moving our life in a month. 

We are so excited to see what God has in store!
